Sustainability Trainings

Sustainable Training Institute

UCSB is now offering free enrollment in the Sustainability Training Institute (STI). STI is a quarter long training program which trains students in sustainability work through workshops and hands-on projects.

In this program, students will learn about what UCSB is doing in terms of sustainability, get experience working with staff on sustainability projects, develop fundraising and grant-writing skills, and develop professional relationships with leaders in sustainability.

STI is supported through the Department of Geography but does not currently offer pay or credit to participants in the program. STI will, however, support students through free trainings and networking opportunities both during and after their involvement in the program.

Minimum commitment is one quarter at five hours/week. For more information, please contact Katie Maynard, at kmaynard@geog.ucsb.edu or 805-893-2003.
