Girvetz Hall
Receives LEED EB Silver
Plaque Dedication ceremony, February 24, 2006On February 24, 2006 UCSB dedicated a LEED EB silver plaque to Girvetz Hall. This is the first building in the UC system to receive such an award. Girvetz Hall was built in 1955 and through operational and maintenance changes Facilities Management was able to green Girvetz Hall. Marc Fisher, Associate Vice Chancellor of Campus Planning and Design, and Jon Cook, Acting Director of Physical Facilities spoke on behalf of the project; acknowledging the dedicated staff responsible for making this project happen.
"I would like to thank everyone who participated in the Greening Girvetz project. Without your help and expertise this project would not have succeeded. It was a great experience to work with each and everyone of you and I look forward to working with you again on our campuses next LEED EB project."
(If I've overlooked anyone, I sincerely apologize. Let me know and I'll add you!)
