Team Mission

Goals


  • 2000 carbon emission levels by 2014
  • 1990 carbon emission levels by 2020
  • Achieve carbon neutrality by 2050
  • Implement the Strategic Energy Partnership energy conservation projects over the next several years.
  • Implement the recommendations for reducing energy consumption in the Climate Action Plan (CAP).
  • Increase the amount of renewable energy sources on and/or off campus.
  • Ensure all new construction projects meet LEED Silver or greater.

Past Accomplishments


  • 30% reduction in per square foot energy use from 1997-2007 through energy conserving retrofits.
  • Installation of a 42 kWh photovolatic system on Bren Hall.
  • Installation of a 7 kWh photovoltaic system on Carrillo Dining Commons.
  • Installation of a 30 kWh photovoltaic system on Sedgwick Ranch Reserve.
  • Installation of a 2.5 kWh photovoltaic system to power the lights on the Henley Gate.
  • Installation of a 133 kWh photovoltaic system on the Multi-Activity Center in the Recreation Center.
  • Installation of a 4.5 kWh photovoltaic system on the Cheadle Center for Biodiversity and Ecological Restoration.
