Team Mission

To enable the acquisition of resources in a manner that supports the UC education, research, and public service goals through both innovation and the support of inventions that will lead us to full sustainability and promote positive market transformations.

Goals


  • Pruchase electronic commerce software to centralize purchasing on the UCSB campus.
  • Elimate paper catalogs.
  • Prioritize sustainable products and strategic purchasing.
  • Institute electronic workflow bewteen campus departments to eliminate paper.
  • Report at the commodity level.

Accomplishments


  • Over 80% of campus paper purchases had post-consumer recycled content at or above 30%.
  • Added sustainability language to Strategic Sourcing Agreements.
  • Developed take-back initiatives for electronics, carpet, etc.
  • Started an e-waste recycling program through Central Stores.
  • Created an online surplus equipment exchange program.
