Zero Waste, One Step Ahead of the Game!

Ellison Hall is going to stay one step ahead of the new UC Policy on Sustainable Practices and reach for a 75% waste diversion rate by 2008 and net zero waste by 2012. This past summer we purchased new bins via funding from The Green Initiative Fund (TGIF) to help us pursue a comprehensive program which addresses all the materials which enter our waste stream.

Students for Ellison Sustainability (a student organization in the UCSB Office of Student Life) is helping to fundraise for the committee buy selling notebooks made out of microwave dinner and cereal boxes and one sided paper collected in Ellison Hall.
