Abby Balais

My name is Abigail Samantha Balais, and I am a 4th year studying environmental studies and sociology. I am passionate about educational equity, representation, and inclusion. I care deeply about the protection of marginalized communities in the transition to clean energy, especially those who experience disproportionate impacts of climate change and initiatives created to mitigate our warming climate. As CERT Club president and resiliency fellow, I work hard to empower my peers and the broader campus community to take ownership of their safety, become prepared in the event of climate-related disaster, and help their peers and community. Outside my studies, you can find me crafting, singing with UC Santa Barbara's all-womens+ a cappella group, VocalMotion, or staying active through swimming, basketball, and yoga.
