Internships

UCSB Sustainability seeks Students for Paid Internships in Sustainable and Just Food Systems, Climate Neutrality, and Climate Justice
Applications due December 4th, 2020
*If everything other than the recommendation letter is submitted by December 4th, we can accept recommendation letters late via email.

The UC Global Food Initiative and the UC Carbon Neutrality Initiative are seeking students with innovative ideas who want to create their own internship experience and receive mentorship from faculty and sustainability professionals.  We are looking for self-driven students with tangible ideas of changes that they would like to see happen on campus.  Please see below for descriptions of each position and how to apply.  Students may apply for multiple positions, but must fill out separate applications for each.  Resumes and recommendation letters can be repeated between applications.

Please email Katie Maynard at internshipsucsbsustainability@gmail.com with any questions.

The UCSB Sustainability office seeks applications from undergraduate students interested in helping to increase communication between students and campus administration on the UC Carbon Neutrality Initiative (https://www.ucop.edu/carbon-neutrality-initiative/index.html), to raise awareness about the initiative, to encourage student involvement in the initiative, and to have critical dialogues about how to achieve the ambitious goal of UC becoming carbon neutral by 2025.

Students interested in applying must present their ideas on how they would engage students in the UC Carbon Neutrality Initiative, how they would increase communication and dialogue between students and campus administration, and how they would increase awareness of the effort. Students should also let us know what they may be able to accomplish in the 2020-2021 school year, and how they would approach this work.  As it is uncertain whether/at what point the selected student will be able to work onsite given COVID restrictions, we are seeking projects that could be done 100% remotely if need be.
